Government usurping citizen’s rights: NC

Kathmandu, April 20: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the current government of seizing citizen’s rights. At a New Year greetings exchange programme organized by NC constituency no 5 of Kathmandu district NC President Deuba said the government is working arbitrarily and ignoring democratic rights.

He further added that “Concentrating the authority to mobilize Nepal Army and bringing the National Investigation Department under his clout by the Prime Minister are unacceptable. He also added that the government is protecting the culprits behind the murder of Nirmala Pant.

On a different note, leader Deuba admitted that discipline in the party is waning. So, anyone acting against discipline will not be spared.  Meantime, Congress General Secretary Dr Sashank Koirala further admitted party’s failure behind not mobilizing its full potential which resulted in defeat.

Joint General Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat also underlined the need of expanding party base and consolidating organization, so that next election could be made successful for the party. (RSS)
