Medicine and medical equipment purchase process should be simplified: DPM Yadav

Kathmandu, May 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population, Upendra Yadav, has said that problem has surfaced in medicine and health equipment due to the complex purchase process.

In today’s meeting of the Education and Health Committee under the House of Representatives, Deputy Prime Minister Yadav said that it is necessary to make arrangement of purchasing the medicines and medical appliances through a separate process rather than calling for tender as the supply of medicine is a sensitive issue.

He stressed the need of  increasing budget to the health sector and added that a new policy is going to be formulated for the reform of the health sector. (RSS)
