Communications and Information Technology Minister Baskota says new media bill forwarded in parliament aming to checking untoward activities

Kathmandu, May 15: Communications and Information Technology Minister Gokul Pd Baskota has said that the new media bill has been forwarded to the parliament with an aim of checking untoward activities including financial and social crimes carried out using social medias.

Speaking in the meeting of the development and technology sub-committee of the parliament, Minister Baskota claimed that the government has forwarded the bill to the parliament to make media timely. He also said that the bill has incorparated the study carried out regarding media use in various countries across the world.

Minister Baskota also urged the subcommittee to approve the bill after having through discussions based social, financial, and social values in the country.

Meantime, the sub committee has approved the bill unanimously.
