Public Procurement Regulations has eased development works: Minister Mahaseth

Kathmandu, May 31: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Raghubir Mahaseth has said that public procurement regulations has been amended easing the working environment.

Speaking at the meeting of the Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives today, Minister Mahasetha claimed that the public procurement regulation has been made entrepreneur friendly and it will also work for welfare of public.

Meantime, lawmakers had sought clarification on the delay in construction of Puspalal Midhill Highway and Postal highway.

In replay, Minister Mahaseth said that the projects will be completed within four years and the ministry will take action against the contractor if they are found not completing the work. He also said that the government will even annul the contract if the contractors fail to meet the standard and working deadline.

Also speaking on the occasion, Nepal communist Party senior leader and lawmaker Jhalanath Khanal stressed that the ministry should take special initiatives to complete the construction of Puspalal Midhill Highway and Postal Highway are the major national pride projects.
