Government decides to mark June 29 as National Afforestation day

Kathmandu, June 27: The government has decided to mark June 29 as the National Afforestation day.

Addressing the press meeting called for unveiling the government decisions, government spokesperson and Communications and Information Technology Minister Gokul Baskota said that the government had decided to mark June 29 as afforestation day with an aim of making the country independent in fruits by planting various fruit trees across the country.

Minister Baskota also informed that the cabinet meeting has approved the Nepal Electricity trade development and Use strategies -2075, National Census Management and Mobilization Directive 2076, National Agro-forestry Policy 2076, National policy against Food adulteration 2075.

Likewise, the cabinet has decided to annul the 5 citizenships issued to the Indian nationals by submitting documents and has directed to take stern action against all involved in the process of issuing the citizenships.

Similarly, the cabinet has annulled the Transport Management Act 2049 BS and principally approved the process of formulating Transport Management Bill 2076. He also said that the government has decided to change Jhimruk Municipality to Bhygute and change the name or Ruru rural municipality to Ruruchhetra rural municipality with center at Ghyubeshi. As Minister Baskota shared the government has also awarded temporary approval the seven Engineering Colleges to have the additional academic programmes.
