National Afforestation Day to be marked tomorrow

Kathmandu, June 28: Tomorrow the Jun 29 or 14th of Nepali month Ashar, huge program is set to plant trees nationwide.

Nepal government has declared Asar 14 or June 29 as tree plantation day and upcoming fiscal year is announced to celebrate as tree plantation year.

Issuing a joint press release today, chairmen duo of Nepali communist party K P Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have urged the party leaders, cadres and the general public to actively participate in the tree plantation program tomorrow.

The release further urged to make the program a huge success as tree plantation will not only contribute to the environment sector but it will also help in boosting up the income of local communities and the general public.

The chairmen due further urged one and all to plant at least two saplings in private house or public place and take necessary care of those saplings planted by themselves at times in future.
