NC President Deuba suggests government not to restrict activities guaranteed by democracy and constitution

Kathmandu, June 29: Main opposition party Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has draws attention of government not to restrict activities guaranteed by democracy and constitution.

Addressing a programme organised in the capital today he said attempts to weaken the press and compressing the right to freedom of opinion, expression and the press freedom was to take the country towards totalitarianism.

He accused the government of increasing economic burden on locals by increasing the scope of tax. He drew the government’s attention not to attempt to curtail the activities guaranteed by democracy and the constitution, urging the party line not to cause an economic burden on locals of those levels headed by the NC through the tax system.
