Chief Minister of Gandaki State Prithvi Subba Gurung says unity in social diversity necessary

July 4, Pokhara: Chief Minister of Gandaki State, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has pointed out the need of maintaining unity in diversity on the basis of traditions, culture in practice in society since years.

Inaugurating the environment-friendly crematorium constructed at the bank of Seti river, Shantighat, in Pokhara here today, Chief Minister Gurung said that sustainable unity of the Nepali society was exemplary to others. The environment-friendly crematorium was constructed with the help of Everest Bank Ltd. He stressed the need for maintaining respect among each other and towards every religion and culture, saying activities against social unity in any name would not be acceptable to them. Awareness among all was necessary not to destroy the beauty of Pokhara, added CM Gurung.

The Chief Minister expressed the belief that there would be a great help in environmental cleanliness of Pokhara with the construction of an environment-friendly crematorium. Similarly, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Man Bahadur GC, said that a working procedure would be made for the systematic operation of the crematorium. Bank Director Dr. Balgopal Vaidya handed over the management of the crematorium to Mayor GC. The crematorium was constructed at a cost of Rs 13 million. It will take only 100 kg of firewood and 120 minutes to cremate a body.
