Trail of Motihari-Amlekhganj Petroleum Pipeline becomes successful

Amlekhganj, July 19: The trial of the petroleum import via pipeline from Indian to Nepal has been successful.

Nepal Oil Corporation Petroleum Pipeline project engineer Sarad Paudel said one thousand Kilo liter Diesel was poured into Amalekhganj depot from India using the newly constructed pipeline.

After the one thousand liters of diesel arrived into the depot, the inflow of petroleum has been halted for time being. Nepal Oil Corporation pipeline project chief Pradeep Yadav said that after Prime Ministers of both countries inaugurate the project, it will be brought into normal operation.

At a press meet after the successful test of the pipeline, Aamlekhganj depot of Nepal Oil Corporation said 4.8 million liter of diesel can be imported within 24 hours if operated fully and that will suffice the demand within Nepal.

Pipeline project chief Yadav further added that four ultramodern reservoirs to store 160 million liters of petroleum at Amalekhganj depot have been constructed.
