Good Governance Committee approves provision of accepting mass resignation of the civil servants

Kathmandu, August 7: State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the house of representatives has approved the provision of accepting the mass resignation of the civil servants.

Taking part in the deliberation on Civil Service formation, mobilization and services bill today, the Nepali Congress lawmakers said that the provision of accepting mass resignation will initiate a wrong practice. Meanwhile, the ruling party lawmakers have supported the provision saying it will help to control anarchic trade union activities in civil servants. They voiced the government should be meek in face of any other non-state agents including trade unions despite providing union rights to the employees.

Meanwhile speaking in the meeting, Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Lal Babu Pandit said that the provision has been included with an objective of making civil service smart. He also assured that the government has no intention of curbing trade union rights.
