Cabinet meeting revises work execution regulation so as to have cabinet meetings via video conferencing while PM in out of country

Kathmandu, August 22: Government has made provision to hold cabinet meeting even at the absence of Prime Minister due to domestic or abroad visit.

Making public the decisions of the latest cabinet meetings through a press meet today, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the government Spokesperson, Gokul Prasad Baskota, informed that the provision to hold a cabinet meeting at the absence of Prime Minister is added by amending the Work Execution Regulation 2064 BS of the government of Nepal. He further said arrangements are made for holding the cabinet meeting via Video Conferencing and other technology during the Prime Minister’s domestic or abroad visits.

Likewise, the cabinet meeting has also decided to transfer some high-level secretaries of the government. Cabinet has also decided to accept 11 billon rupeese concessional loan from development partners and to provide extra fund for the completion of various 21 projects in mountainous districts.

Minister Baskota informed that the cabinet meeting decided to give consent for creating 392 officer-level temporary posts required in Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Road Division and Rail Division, and creating 276 temporary posts required for running 54 development projects under Urban Development ministry. The meeting also decided to establish Dhauwadi Iron Mine Limited.
