2 people died due to electrocution in Jhapa District

November 2 : Two people died due to electrocution this morning at Buddha Shanti rural municipality-4 of Jhapa district as they accidentally came into contact with live electric fence installed to keep away wild elephants.

The District Police Office Jhapa identified the deceased as 18-year-old Avinash Rai of Buddha Shanti rural municipality-4 and 35-year-old Maniram Rai of Bhojpur. Avinash is Maniram’s nephew.

Police said both of them were found dead in a trench inside the local Nawajyoti community forest at 7am today.

Police has suspected that they might have hit the fence while out for fishing.

Police team has reached the site and initiated investigation in this case.
