Nepal-EU Joint Commission meeting kicks off in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nov. 8: A meeting of Nepal-European Union (EU) Joint Commission has begun in Kathmandu today.

Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shanker Das Bairagi is leading the Nepali delegation and Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific, Paola Pampaloni, is leading the EU delegation in the meeting.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions will be held regarding the matters of regional and multilateral mutual interests as well as all aspects related to Nepal-EU relations in the meeting.

Similarly, the meeting will also discuss the matter of increasing support provided by the EU on trade and commercial cooperation, economic cooperation, development cooperation, joint investment, energy, science and technology, agriculture, environment, and human resource development areas.

Likewise, a discussion on Nepal’s political scenario will also be held in the meeting. Meanwhile, the European Union’s Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific, Paola Pampaloni, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, at his office today.

On the occasion, they discussed Nepal-EU relations as well as various matters of mutual concern and interest. Similarly, the discussion was also held on matters of regional and multilateral mutual interest.
