Role of rangers is crucial in wildlife, environment conservation: NCP Chair Prachanda

Sauraha, Nov 12: Nepal Communist Party Chari Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the role played by rangers for forest, wildlife and environment conservation was crucial.

Inaugurating the ninth World Ranger Congress began at Sauraha from today, Dahal said that the role played by rangers for the forest, wildlife and environment conservation in the world is incomparable.

The five-day congress is jointly organised by International Ranger Federation and Ministry of Forest and Environment.   Chairperson Dahal, on the occasion, pointed out the need of carrying out activities by playing a coordinative role, saying the conservationists have challenges to carry out works by reducing human-wildlife conflict.

Similarly, Minister for Forest and Environment, Shakti Bahadur Basnet shared the information that Nepal has fulfilled its commitment made before the international community by controlling wildlife poaching increasing the number of wildlife like tiger and rhino.

Likewise, President of IRF, Sean Willmore, expressed gratitude towards Nepal for organising world ranger congress for the first time in Asia.
