Development impossible without peace and stability: Home Minister Thapa

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said development is not possible with the absence of peace and stability in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Surkhet yesterday Home Minister Thapa said  the government had kept control of crime in top priority, referring to the recent repatriation of 122 Chinese nationals who had been carrying out criminal activities from Nepal.

On the occasion, he insisted that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant, put forth by the US government for Nepal, would be endorsed by the House after amendments to the unwanted provisions.

He said the grant would be passed without causing any harm to Nepal’s sovereignty and independence.
